My Social Network Publishing Model
Using the publish once and distribute everywhere methodology, I have been able to expand social network footprint while maintaining minimum effort.
Here are my activities I share:
1) Articles I find interesting
2) My blog posts from stevekhart.com
3) My infrequent status updates
Given that I subscribed to 10 social networking sites, it would be very time consuming to update my activities on each of these sites. This is where TwiterFeed and Ping.fm come to the rescue. TwitterFeed is a RSS feed processor, while PingFM is a RSS feed aggregator. I feed my favorite RSS feeds (stevekhart.com and Del.icio.us) into Twitterfeed and let Ping.fm distribute the content. Here a schematic of my social publihing model.
Now there a couple of things to keep in mind. First I have two seperate Del.icio.us accounts (delicious is a bookmarking site). One to bookmark articles I like and one to aggregate all my bookmarks (my blogs, my articles, and whatever comes next).
